About the rules

  1. Registering for the Artist Award is only possible via the registration form. After registering, the act will receive a confirmation by email. By replying to this email, the application will officially be registered and will the concept will be published on the website.

  2. Registrations must be in English and received by 23:59h GMT+1/CET 10th of December 2013.

  3. Registration applies only to the Interactive Awards of 2014.

  4. All European acts can take part in the Interactive Awards. Companies do not have the permission to take part in this event. However, it is permitted to submit concepts that have been developed for the act by a third party, on condition that the act itself presents the concept. The concept must be complete and have been executed, or almost complete. By this, the jury can take the implementation of the concept in appraisal.

  5. Sending in concepts does not mean that the act has access to Noorderslag Eurosonic.

  6. Delegates of the three nominees for the Interactive Award (with a maximum of 2 persons per act) will receive a passe-partout for Eurosonic Noorderslag.

  7. For any applicant knowingly providing false information about their registration, the organisation reserves the right to exclude the act from participation.

  8. Important dates:

    • Start registration: it has started!
    • Closing date registration: Tuesday the 10th of December 2013
    • Publication of the three nominees who can prepare presentations for the jury: Friday the 10th of January 2014
    • Voting nominees: after publication on the 10th of January 2013 until Friday the 17th of February 2014
    • Presentation three nominees: on Friday the 14th of January 2014
    • Announcement winner: on Friday the 14th of January 2014, during the Award Ceremony
  1. The jury criteria are: the results, originality, potentiality, presentation and the overall impression of the concept.

  2. The presentations will take place on the 11th of January 2013 during the conference session. On this day, a representative of the act must be present to elaborate on the concept before the jury. The presentations must be in English.

  3. The decision of the judges and audience will be final.

  4. All registrations will be published. This may include: publishing on internet, by means of the press and seminars. Applicants are responsible for making appropriate arrangements to protect any intellectual property associated with their concept.

  5. By registering for the Interactive Awards, you agree to these terms and conditions.

  6. Each public rating per concept counts for 20%. This is equal to the rating of one jury member. The concept which will get the highest amount of votes, earns a 10. The concept with the lowest amount of the votes will get a 5. The public rating from the other three nominated concepts will be individual calculated with the following formula:

    Y = amount of votes 
    Yh = highest amount of all votes 
    Yl = lowest amount of all votes 
    P = public rating per concept

    P = (Y + Yh - (2Yl)) / (0,2 x (Yh - Yl))
